1.  Bharat Puri appointed as Managing Director of Pidilite Industries Limited.

2. Words Ride-share, unboxing added to Oxford Dictionary:-  Words Ride-share and unboxing were added to Oxford dictionary on 27 February 2015. These words were added along with other words like bioprinting and vishing. Ride-share has been defined as to participate in an arrangement in which a passenger travels in a private vehicle driven by its owner, for free or for a fee, especially as arranged by means of a website or app. The word unboxing has been defined as an act or instance of removing a newly purchased product from its packaging and examining its features, typically when filmed and shared on a social media sit.

3. Martin David Crowe inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame:- 

Former New Zealand cricket captain Martin David Crowe on 28 February 2015 was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame during the innings break of the New Zealand-Australia match in the 2015 World Cup at Eden Park, New Zealand.

He received his commemorative cap from Wally Edwards, ICC Director and Chairman of Cricket Australia.

4.  AB de Villiers of South Africa hit the fastest 150 runs in ODI:-
AB de Villiers, the Captain of South Africa cricket team, on 26 February 2015 hit the fastest-ever 150 runs in one-day internationals (ODIs). He achieved this feat in the league match against West Indies in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at Sydney, Australia.

De Villiers took 64 deliveries to reach 150 runs and beat the previous record of Australian Shane Watson by 19 balls. He struck 162 not out from 66 balls.

5. Indian Navy concluded TROPEX Exercise 2015:- 

Indian Navy on 27 February 2015 concluded its Theatre Level Readiness and Operational Exercise (TROPEX)-2015. The event encompassed all dimensions of maritime warfare.TROPEX-2015 was a month long exercise aimed at validating the Indian Navy’s Concept of Operations and the area of operations spanned across the Arabian Sea and Northern Indian Ocean.

6.  Mukul Roy removed from the post of Chairman of TMC in the Parliament:- 

Trinamool Congress (TMC) on 27 February 2015 removed Mukul Roy from the post of Chairman of TMC in the Parliament. He is the member of Rajya Sabha.n his place, TMC appointed eminent quizmaster Derek O'Brien as the new Chairman.

7. Acclaimed US actor Leonard Nimoy passed away:- 

Renowned US actor Leonard Nimoy passed away on 27 February 2015 in Los Angeles following chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83.

8. Noted sociologist Meera Kosambi died:-

Noted sociologist Meera Kosambi died on 26 February 2015 after a brief illness. She was 75. She was the youngest daughter of the great historian and mathematician DD Kosambi.

9.  IDC released a report on Indian Smartphone market :-

International Data Corporation (IDC) released a report on 24 February 2015 on Indian smartphone market. For the fourth quarter (October-December) of 2014, report highlighted that South Korean handset maker Samsung continued to retain its top position in the Indian Smartphone market.
Highlights of the report
• Samsung mopped up 22 percent of the market share followed by Micromax (18 percent0, Intex (8 percent) Lava (7 percent), Xiaomi (4 percent) and the rest (41 percent).

10. Haryana Government raised cash reward under Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme:- 

State Government of Haryana on 27 February 2015 announced its decision to increase the cash reward under the Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme from 50000 rupees to 1 lakh rupees.

The reward was constituted under Rule 16 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

The reward money would be provided through bank accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY). The government also asked the officers to work on how to make the process of transferring reward money at the earliest to avoid any delay.

This decision to increase the cash reward under the inter-caste marriage scheme was made at a meeting of the state level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Chandigarh. 

11.  Kshatrapati Shivaji appointed as CMD of Small Industries Development Bank of India:- 

Kshatrapati Shivaji was on 27 February 2015 appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Shivaji was appointed on deputation basis for a period of three years.

12.  Veteran cinematographer Aloysius Vincent passed away:- 

Veteran cinematographer Aloysius Vincent passed away on 25 February 2015 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu following a brief illness. He was 86. He is survived by his two sons, wife and daughter.

13. Justice Amitava Roy sworn in as Supreme Court judge :- 

Justice Amitava Roy was sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court (SC) on 27 February 2015. Prior to this, he served as the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court.
With his elevation, the strength of the SC judges has gone up to 29. SC has a sectioned strength of 31 judges.

14.  Gopinath Pillai appointed as Special Envoy to Andhra Pradesh by Singapore government:- 

Singapore government on 26 February 2015 appointed Gopinath Pillai as its special envoy to Andhra Pradesh. Pillai, a senior policy strategist, was appointed to speed up construction of new capital in the state.
Pillai’s appointment as special envoy to Andhra Pradesh was announced by Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the secretariat in capital Hyderabad.

15. Wipro won seven awards at the CIO Choice Honour and Recognition 2015:- 


Wipro on 19 February 2015 won seven awards at the third annual edition of the CIO Choice Honour and Recognition 2015. The awards were given to Wipro to recognise the customer satisfaction and endorsement by the CIO community.
            
                    Wipro won the award in the categories of Managed IT Services, Managed Security Services, Enterprise Infrastructure Automation Services, Systems Integrator, Network Maintenance Services, Service Assurance Program, and Application Managed Services.
